Since we&#8217;ll be transitioning to the period after the war, the assignment will be all reading, no viewing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">READING<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Homer, <em>Odyssey<\/em> 1, 9, 11, 22, and 23<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In a perfect world, we would have time to read all of the <em>Odyssey<\/em>, which is about the fraught return of Odysseus from Troy to his homeland of Ithaca. Like, the <em>Iliad<\/em>, the <em>Odyssey<\/em> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><\/span>spans a brief period of time, about a month or so in &#8220;real time,&#8221; with much of Odysseus&#8217; ten-year journey told in flashback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-black-background-color has-black-color is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>In class we&#8217;ll look at screen texts based on Homer&#8217;s &#8220;other&#8221; epic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DC<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, October 27, our unit on the Trojan War continues.
