Unit 3 : Aeschylus |

Unit 3 approaches Aeschylus (?525–456 BCE), the author of
our only surviving trilogy, the Oresteia, which students
will view in its entirety. On
the surface Aeschylus is the least like Euripides: the eldest
of the three tragedians, his language is difficult, his choruses
abstruse, his characters strange and dark.
In this brief unit, students begin to produce drafts of the Semester project script and to look forward to the performance. |
